Stents
Dental Implant Stents are used in implant surgeries to guide dentists in their placement of a specific implant, stabilizing the area and allowing for a better experience for both patient and dentist.
In practice, they drive the implant towards a specific angle, depth, and location in the bone. They are especially useful when conducting surgeries where there are no natural teeth near the site of surgery to act as a reference point for fitting.
As occlusion is of utmost importance to both aesthetics and patient oral health, stents are a valuable investment for both dentists and patients alike.
Abutments
Abutments are pieces of carefully sculpted metal that enable dental implants that are embedded into a patients’ gums to be topped off with a dental crown.
The overall integration of the implant, abutment, and crown are what provide the artificial “tooth” look in a restoration.
One part is attached to the jawbone via the implant while the other slots into the bottom of the crown. Like crowns, they can come in a variety of materials including zirconia and gold.
Restorations
When a patient is only missing one or a few teeth, a “restoration” of the teeth is the recommended procedure.
Using implant technology and crowns, our dental technicians fabricate artificial teeth according to your patients’ needs and requested materials.
The method used to connect the implant, abutment and crown all together will also vary depending on the context of the implant procedure.
